Loveland, Colorado

The city of Loveland, Colorado is located in Larimer County, Colorado. The city was founded in 1877 and named after the president of the Colorado Central Railroad, A. H. Loveland. Loveland has a population of around 59,500 as estimated by the United States Census Bureau and is the 14th most populous city in Colorado. Just as significant, Loveland is the 15th fastest growing city in the nation. The city has an area of 25.5 square miles and is located south of the county seat, Fort Collins. Loveland is situated about 50 miles south of Cheyenne, Wyoming and 40 miles north of Denver.

The Loveland Community

The metropolitan area encompassing Loveland and Fort Collins has come out on top in ratings of "great places to live" by numerous publications, such as AARP Magazine, Money Magazine, and USA Today. The population of Loveland includes a large number of artists, which led to the creation of three foundries, an art museum, and an annual sculpture show in the area.
The community actively contributes to and fosters healthy living and creative expression, hosting many creative events and festivals throughout the year which are very popular with residents and visitors. With 27 parks, the city is richly endowed with recreational facilities
The downtown area of Loveland includes many fashionable restaurants, art galleries, and shops housed in buildings that were built toward the turn of the century. In the heart of the city is a 300 acre oasis encompassing Benson Park and Lake Loveland, which has very nice sand beaches. Benson Park contains a tranquil sculpture garden where many residents go to escape the pressures of the world for a short while. Bike paths, golf courses, walking trails, and athletic fields also add to the allure of Benson Park.

The Loveland Economy

Hewlett-Packard operates a manufacturing facility in Loveland, employing thousands of people in the area. Loveland real estate also hosts manufacturing facilities for Teledyne and a water quality analysis equipment manufacturer operating as Hach. A recently built medical center also offers employment opportunities in Loveland. Loveland is also a popular tourist stop due its proximity to the principal access routes into the Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park.
